La Bella Firenze (Florence)

While visiting Florence for just a few days each time we traveled there, it was difficult to even scrape the surface of this historically rich city. The capital of the Tuscany region is most well know as the birthplace of the Renaissance. This whimsical town is filled with some of the world’s most famous artwork from Michelangelo, Botticelli, and Leonardo da Vinci. With the abundant museums being the focal point for visitors from all over the world, the city takes extreme measures to preserve the many frescoes, sculptures, paintings, and more.

From Venice, the drive to Florence is about 3 hours. Or by train, the time is around the same and will stop at the most convenient location near the center of town at the Santa Maria Novella station. The drive to Florence was stunning, we passed countless vineyards on picturesque rolling hills.
