Hola, Barcelona

Gaudi, Sangria, Tapas, La Rambla, La Boqueria, Churros… and more – all situated on the beautiful coast of the Balearic Sea. This is a city I could live in for the rest of my life. Barcelona attractions are endless. Here’s what I would recommend if you have a few days in the colorful city.

See the famous indoor market, La Boqueria, and a lunch or dinner of mussels and sangria. Wander the market admiring all of the different cuisines and sampling along the way.

Try to see as many cathedrals as possible, like the stunning Cathedral of Barcelona pictured below. We decided to stay in the Gothic Quarter, but in anywhere in the city center will provide you with a central location to attractions.

See a Flamenco show at Palau de la Musica Catalana and admire the ornate building.

Visit Park Guell.

Take an audio tour of Sagra Familia.

See Casa Batllo.

Eat, eat,and eat! Especially at Quimet & Quimet. Get here early for a spot and order ALL the tapas – you will not want to leave!

Shop on the famous La Rambla street, then make your way to Barceloneta Beach stopping in all of the scenic public parks along the way.

If you have an extra day, take the train to see a beautiful mountain top monastery in Montserrat. One of the oldest boys’ choirs in Europe performs at the sanctuary here. Check out the performance schedule before you go to make sure you don’t miss a chance to see them. The area also has hiking trails, a couple restaurants, and gift shop. A great escape from the busy city of Barcelona for the day.
