Dose Specialty Coffee

Dose.
Location: 3431 Murphy Rd – Nashville, TN

First of all, before I rave about the coffee at this fantastic coffee shop in Nashville, I have to mention the food. I have a thing for bagels. (My perfect breakfast is a toasted bagel with cream cheese and a cup of coffee.) Dose serves bagels from Bare Naked Bagel (locally owned and operated). And these are the best bagels I’ve ever had! Dose also serves made from scratch muffins, breads, cookies, and pastries that are baked in-house as well. Recently, Dose expanded their menu to include more delicious food options and added another location across town.

One of my favorite things about this place is the coffee menu. It’s laid out simply on a chalkboard above the register. It may be the easiest-to-read coffee menu I’ve ever seen. There aren’t any Mudslide Hurricane Lattes or Caramel Swirl Cappuccino’s. Instead, it’s simply 8oz, 12oz, or 16 oz coffee. Of course you can also order a latte however you’d like it, with syrup, choice of milk, etc. The coffee choices change depending on what’s available from the roasters they buy from. The selection is ever changing and can be found via their social media. Their coffee used to come from Humphreys Street Coffee Co. I love Humphrey’s because they provide jobs for Men In Mentoring In Community, a mentoring program at Harvest Hands (all local organizations of course). Now, their coffee is from the admirable Counter Culture Coffee. The shop also features different roasters from all over the U.S. You can choose between a light, dark and decaf brew everyday at Dose.

Dose was published in Imbibe Magazine (magazine solely committed to all things liquid, drinks that is) as one of the 100 Best Places to Drink in the South. If that doesn’t make you want to try out this place, I don’t know what will! And, they’ve started to make their own chocolate syrup in-house. Who doesn’t love chocolate?
